Parent Partnerships | Rowans Nurseries in Birmingham

Nursery Parent Partnerships

We believe that children benefit most from early years education and care when parents and settings work together in partnership. Our aim is to support parents as their children's first and most important educators by involving them in their children's education and in the full life of the setting. We also aim to support parents in their own continuing education and personal development.

In the main entrance a parent notice board is displayed with relevant information of workshops, courses and any future events, and a newsletter is produced every term with an updated letter when required. Every family will receive a copy and additional copies are found at the main entrance.

All our practitioners are trained to compile your child's learning journey, this is a very important document for both you and your child as it will show their achievements and how they are developing. It is also a perfect document during the transition to school to share with your child's new teacher. Your child's key person will complete these journeys for you and may ask that you bring items in occasionally from home to support this. A baseline report will be completed on arrival into the setting following this, your child will have a report following their second, third and fourth birthday.

The nursery has parents evenings scheduled three times a year. We believe this is a very important time for the child's parents/carers to discuss and understand their child's development and experiences. These meetings are conducted with the child's key person and also a practitioner from the management team.

We also like to invite parents and family for workshops and play sessions with their child, so that you can meet the team and find out what your child experiences throughout the day.

Throughout the year the Rowans will celebrate many events and will always encourage families to attend the celebrations, please see the notice boards for information.

We are always reflecting on our current practice and will always take on board any ideas you express to improve the setting.
